Sunday Morning Yoga classes for adults have been offered by sevaks, since the inception of Bakersfield Bala Vihar. The class is attended by both Bala Vihar parents and community members. Barbara Zubik, our Yoga Instructor, describes her guided yoga practice session.
This yoga class is based on Patanjali’s eight fold path of yoga. It is a practice of connecting mind and body through practice of asanas ( postures ) and pranayama ( breathing techniques ). Also incorporating meditation to quiet and still the mind. This practice of Hatha yoga increases strength and improves flexibility. It also reduces stress and promotes deep relaxation.
The classes for adults are held every Sunday from 9:30 – 10:45 A.M. and 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM every Wednesdays in the Chinmaya Gokul Hall. Everyone is welcome.
